Phulnakhara: The twin-city Commissionerate Police Tuesday organised a public interface camp at Gopalpur under Cuttack Sadar police limits, here.
Intellectuals, social activists, senior citizens and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) from Cuttack Sadar, Barang and Kandarpur police limits participated in the camp and raised various issues pertaining to the maintenance of law and order in their localities.
Police commissioner YB Khurania, Cuttack deputy commissioner of police Akhilesvar Singh, assistant commissioner of police (zone-4) Nimai Charan Sethi and additional deputy commissioner of police Mayadhar Sethi represented the Commissionerate Police (CP) in the camp.
Participating in the meet, many social activists urged the CP to take steps for the completion of a service road along National Highway-16 between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for the convenience of locals.
They also urged Khurania to deploy additional police control room (PCR) vehicles and security personnel at Cuttack Sadar police station to beef up patrolling in the locality.
A few senior citizens also pleaded for setting up of a police station for 42 Mauza in the wake of rising instances of crime in the area.
