Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: The tourism department has come up with a slew of measures to woo tourists ahead of Nabakalebar festival.
The department has decided to make a special movie on Nabakalebar besides introducing T-shirts with Nabakalebar logo embossed on them, said tourism and culture secretary Aravind Padhee.
The department had unveiled Nabakalebar logo earlier and now it is all set to come up with a film highlighting the charisma of Lord Jagannath. The film is expected to hit theatres in April, Padhee added.
Besides, the department has planned to give a facelift to tourist spots located in and around the holy city. Atharanala, Jagannath Ballabh Mutt and Konark among other tourist spots will have landscaped gardens. Besides, 20 rest sheds for the tourists will be erected alongside the National Highway.
The department has also planned to come up with rest houses in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Cuttack ahead of the mega event.
Apart from renovating Cuttack-based Dhabaleswar shrine and three other tourist spots in Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts, plans are also afoot to revamp tourist spots in Sambalpur, Angul and Jharsuguda districts, maintained the secretary.
If everything goes as per the plan, the department will be able to complete all the projects before the commencement of Nabakalebar fest, Padhee added.
