Bhubaneswar: Training of master trainers for the second phase of Census-2027 began in Odisha Monday, with around 40 officers participating in the programme, officials said.
National-level trainers had received training in New Delhi last month.
They will now train 80 state-level master trainers, who will subsequently impart training to 1,700 census supervisors, a Census Directorate official said.
Around 1.2 lakh population enumerators will be trained in the next stage, he added.
“The training of state-level officers started Monday and will continue till November 13 in two batches. The entire training programme will continue till December,” Director of Census Operations in Odisha Nikhil Pavan Kalyan said.
After completion of the training programme, the second-phase self-enumeration exercise in the state will begin January 10 and continue till January 24.
Door-to-door population enumeration will be conducted from January 25 to February 28, followed by a five-day revision exercise, Kalyan said.
During population enumeration, officials will ask 40 questions relating to the social, educational and financial status of people, he added.
The first phase of the Census, covering House Listing Operations (HLO), was conducted across Odisha from April 1 to May 15 as part of the nationwide exercise.
