Balasore:An unidentified gang robbed gold ornaments worth lakhs from two templesSundaynight. Both were Shiva temples in Sabira village under Soro police limits.
According to first information, the gang barged into the temples after breaking the main lock, and then took away the Lord’s ornaments, other valuables and cash at night.
The matter came to the fore the next morning. A devotee who as usual went to the temple for prayers saw the temple’s lock broken. He rushed to the village and alerted the locals as also the temple priests. Soro police reached the spot and launched a manhunt.
Altogether seven temples have been looted in the last 15 days, and the police have not been able to arrest the miscreants.
