soulmate

It is commonly believed that souls are made in pairs. All women crave for soulmates – many of them even claim that they have met their soulmates in their dreams long before they met the real person. Even as little girls, they fantasize about growing up and meeting their Prince Charming one day. Many spinsters dream of lavish weddings decked up in beautiful clothes. As they grow up, they search for that perfect man who they would tie the knot with. Most of them believe their soulmates are destined to meet them. Speaking with Sunday POST, a bunch of beauties from different walks of life bare their hearts.

In most cases, girls don’t find their soulmates and so have to adjust their lives with others against their wishes. My soulmate should always have an intention to help making me “complete”. He should be honest, sincere and must be committed to me and should always push me beyond my comfort zone, beyond my limits to find my better self. He should always go deep inside and tell me the truth about myself. We should be in a position to feel each other’s pain, feelings, sadness, worry and stress. Both of us should be in a position to step into each other’s shoes and share each other’s happiness and joys.

There should be such love between us that I could even hear my soulmate’s unexpressed thoughts. Again, being together is comforting like a fluffy blanket on a cold winter night. Hence, when we go for a long drive in our car there should be a serene peace between us which expresses our feelings and love for each other.

We should be connected soul to soul. It would also be good if both of us have common goals and both are on the same page as regards values, ethics and goals. We may have a different way of reaching the goals but both should reach the common end.

Riyana Sukla, actress, Cuttack

My ideal man should be madly in love with me. I am a hardcore romantic at heart and so naturally I want my mate to be well versed in the art of romance. He should not flirt but should be truly romantic.

I also want my soul mate to be a dignified man. Dignity is rare and priceless in a world that mostly prizes looks and social standing. Frankly, I want a friend, philosopher and guide, all in one man: a combination of a father, friend and lover.

My soulmate should possess genuine feelings. I hate anything superficial and can smell superficiality from a distance. My big necessity is a hygienic environment. So I like men who are clean and neat and not ones who don’t wear clean clothes and leave their things spread across the room.

I am not brutally ambitious. So my ideal man should not be so ambitious that he forgets about our relationship. Being ambitious is fine as long as it does not separate loved ones. I don’t like people who neglect relationships for work.

Kalpasa Ankita Shaw, social worker, Balasore

I would love to have a soulmate who should be hearty and handsome. Of course, it is not very necessary that he should be handsome but more than that he should be caring. For me the most important thing is care, love and affection. He should be a good son of his parents. He should abide by his parents’ wishes.

I want this because this quality would also make him a good son-in-law. I don’t want that my mom should have great affection for him, but if he can touch the hearts of his in-laws, he will automatically find a place in my heart and become my cherished soulmate.

Sabita Barik, model, Bhubaneswar

Every girl wants her soulmate to have a lovely heart. Somebody who can understand her in the right way. I want my soulmate to love his family and me equally. Another most important thing is if I commit some mistake unknowingly then he should understand in which circumstance I have made that mistake and after clarification he should forget all that and love me as if nothing had happened.

The most important fact is that he should greet responsibility, sadness and happiness in the same lovely manner with his feelings for me remaining steadfast always. My love and his love should be equal throughout life.
