Bhubaneswar: The diamond Jubilee of Utkalika was celebrated at its head office at Rasulgarh here Sunday. Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Snehangini Chhuria was the chief guest of the function, where MLA Priyabrata Mishra, Jatin Sahu (MD Utkalika), Padmashri Sudarsan Sahoo and other digni- taries were also present. Addressing the function Chhuria said,
“Utkalika has caught the fancy of global buyers from its very in- ception. Its glorious journey of 60 years showcases the hard work of our artisans, government officials and our efforts to sell our products via e-marketing. CM Patnaik is very fond of this particular de- partment and his overall efforts have helped the handloom department to scale great heights globally. I congratulate each and every mem- ber of Utkalika and its esteemed buyers on this special occasion.”
Earlier in the morning a bike rally was flagged off from KIIT Square. The rally concluded at Rasulgarh head office. Around 80 members of Utkalika participated in the rally. MD Jatin Sahu encouraged new artisans to work more dedicatedly and to make Utkalika the pride of the state.
In his address Mishra said, “The efforts of minister Snehagini Chhuria has immensely helped in creating the brand value of Utkalika and from its inception until now the brand has earned trust of its customers, within the state and outside.” Sucheta compered the function and proposed vote of thanks.
