According to reports, this incident occurred at a government school in the Baloda development block of Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh. The headmaster’s name is Hira Porte.
On September 19, she arrived at school in an inebriated state and fell asleep on a table. Villagers captured the entire incident and shared it on social media, making it viral. A total of 40 children study at the school, and apart from the headmaster, there is only one other teacher posted there. Villagers allege that this is not the first time she has behaved this way over the past few days, which has been affecting the children’s studies.
According to family members, the headmaster began drinking alcohol after her husband’s death. Despite repeated persuasion, she was unable to quit. Following the complaint and the video going viral, the SDM, DEO, and BEO visited the school and conducted an investigation, following instructions from Collector Janmejay Mahobe. On September 20, the headmaster was suspended for violating civil service conduct rules.
