Khurda: In a tragic incident, a married woman in this district was found dead Saturday. She was staying at her maternal uncle’s house. Police suspect it to be a case of murder. The husband of the woman is suspected to have killed her and is absconding. A hunt has been launched to find him. The deceased woman was identified as Sasmita Behera (28). She was staying near the PN College road under Khurda Industrial Estate police limits.

Locals informed that Sasmita’s husband Harekrushna Behera used to visit her occasionally. Most of the visits were marred by arguments and spats.
Sources said that Harekrushna visited her wife Sasmita Friday night. They suspected that Harekrushna murdered his office after the two had another spat.
On being informed, local police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. The police found blood profusely oozing out from the bludgeoned head of the victim. Police have seized the body and sent to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) for post-mortem.
