Odisha Climate Conclave

Keonjhar: “For every negative comment you receive, remember that there are a hundred positive ones in your favour. Always work with positive thoughts,” said Tathagata Satpathy, Editor of Dharitri and Orissa POST, while inaugurating the maiden Odisha Climate Conclave 2025 at Fakirpur CT School campus in Keonjhar district Sunday.

The conclave brought together environmentalists, researchers, teachers, students, and intellectuals from across Odisha to deliberate on the escalating impact of climate change and explore sustainable solutions suited to the state’s unique needs.

Dharitri and Orissa POST Chief Executive Adyasha Satpathy also addressed the conclave, emphasising the urgency of environmental challenges and describing climate change as a natural disaster impacting modern society.

Assistant Professor at Anandapur Anchalika Training College, Sabita Jena urged people to curb their material needs, while Principal of the Elementary Teacher Education Institute, Fakirpur Kartikeshwar Roul highlighted the crucial role of youth in environmental protection.

Environmentalist Saroj Kumar Sahu underlined the deep connections between nature, trees and culture, while Bailochan Sutar noted that lifestyle changes are essential for protecting the environment.

Organiser Trilochan Sahoo said that environmental protection is achievable if individuals—particularly the youth— commit to making practical changes in their daily lives.

More than 150 nature lovers, students and scholars from various regions and districts of Odisha participated in the event.

Anil Kumar Sahoo delivered the vote of thanks, while organiser Sahoo expressed gratitude to all guests and participants for making the conclave a success.
