Parjang: A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl at a village here in Dhenkanal district Sunday, police said Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Alok Khatua (20) of Kulei. A medical examination was conducted on the victim.
The girl’s statement is scheduled to be recorded at Parjang court Wednesday, sub-inspector Anadi Charan Pattayat said.
The incident occurred when the victim had gone outside to relieve herself.
The accused picked her up and raped her at a secluded place. Police arrested him following a complaint from the girl’s family.
