Basudevpur: One person was killed while another sustained grievous injuries after a motorcycle collided with another near Basudevpur petrol pump in Bhadrak district Thursday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Sethi of Jalanda village near Tudigadia area of Balasore district. He was rushed to the hospital after the incident but was declared ‘dead on arrival’ by the doctors.
Meanwhile, Basudevpur police reached the hospital and sent Amar’s body for post-mortem.
The pillion rider Kalandi — said to be a brother-in-law of Amar — was rushed to Bhadrak district headquarter hospital in a critical condition. He has sustained grievous injuries in his head.
According to a source, Amar had married daughter of Siba Sethi of Bakarpur village under Basudevpur Municipality Corporation only eight days back. Amar and Kalandi had come to market Thursday afternoon and were returning home when another motorcycle hit them leading to the incident.
Police have seized both the motorcycles and probing further into the incident.
