Dhenkanal: One person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after a road grader vehicle hit two vehicles on National Highway-55 near Baladiabandha in Dhenkanal district Monday.
The deceased was identified as Bharat Behera of Dalak village under Nadiali panchayat.
The mishap took place while Bharat along with two others was en-route to Dhenkanal town riding his scooter Monday morning. The driver of a speeding road grader vehicle which was moving in the same direction drove extremely left on the road and hit the scooter, sources said.
While Bharat died on the spot, the rest two turned critical.
Later, in a bid to escape from the spot following the crash the grader driver ended up hitting another bike which was moving ahead and left two more hurt.
All injured were immediately rushed to Balasore DHH and then shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack.
