Athagarh: One person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries in bomb blast at Maniabandha village in Athagarh area of Cuttack district late Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Sahu, a resident of Bindhanima village in the district.
Tension erupted in the locality after members of two groups indulged in a heated argument over ganja trade. Moments later, the situation took an ugly turn after the members of both the groups started attacking each other.
Irked over this, a person from one of the groups hurled a bomb at its rival group, killing Sahu on the spot and two others.
The two injured Indramani Sitha and Bindhani Mada were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
Meanwhile, Badamba police has detained four persons for their alleged involvement in the bomb attack and violent clash.
Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the village to prevent any untoward incident.
