Sambalpur: Use of explosives while fishing claimed the life of a man and left three others injured at Jusanpuri under Jujumura police limits in Sambalpur district Sunday. The deceased was identified as Umesh Pradhan (23) of Giripali.
The injured Buthul (30), Ranjit Nathul and Bushav Bada (30) were admitted to Burla-based VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Police registered a case and launched a probe, Sasan IIC Jyotirashmi Sethy said.
The four friends had gone to fish in river Malati using explosives. Meanwhile, an explosive went off in Umesh’s hand, killing him on the spot.
