Raisuan: A 108 ambulance driver reportedly refused to take a patient from the district hospital to Cuttack Friday.
According to reports, Banguru Behera, from Bansapal area of Keonjhar, was critically wounded in an elephant-attack at Patapani under Bansapal block. The doctors at the district hospital, where Behera was admitted first, referred him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Forest officials had sought the service of 108 ambulance to shift the patient. Though the ambulance driver came, he refused to take Behera, the patient’s family alleged.
Later, Behera was shifted to Cuttack in a private ambulance at 11 pm.
However, the CDMO was unaware of the incident, reports added.
