Jeypore: Twelve persons have fallen ill after consuming toxic mushroom at Kundriguda near here Thursday evening.
The victims were rushed to Jeypore Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH).
According to sources, the victims had collected mushrooms from their backyard in the day before cooking them as curry for supper. Soon after consuming them, they complained of nausea, vomiting and loose motion and were admitted to a hospital.
Four of them were discharged and eight are under under treatment.
On being informed, Koraput additional district medical officer (ADMO) Arun Padhi and medical superintendent DB Tripathy visited the SDH.
