Jeypore: A person was arrested on the charge of smuggling more than 121 kg of ganja near Jeypore in Koraput district Saturday night.
The accused has been identified as Kartik Bagh.
Acting on a tip-off; a police team intercepted the car and seized the ganja stuffed in a number of packets.
In a similar incident, June 22, a huge consignment of ganja was seized by excise sleuths from Basta railway station in Balasore district.
Three peddlers, including a woman, were arrested for possessing ganja.
The peddlers had planned to go to West Bengal with 50 kg of ganja on Jagannath Express.
In another crackdown, May 18, Orkel police in Malkangiri district had seized more than 10 quintals of ganja near Pilakusimi forest and arrested three persons.
The arrested were carrying 66 sacks of ganja to Chhattisgarh from Malkangiri.
