Jajpur: A fourteen-year-old boy has been arrested on a charge of killing a 17-year-old girl at Korei area in this district recently.
According to police, the boy allegedly strangled the girl with a dupatta and then dumped her body in a pond, June 18, after he noticed her talking to a youth of the same village on her mobile phone.
The police said they started an investigation after recovering the girl’s body and detained the accused this morning. During interrogation, he is stated to have confessed to the crime. Police suspect the accused had a love affair with the girl.
