Angul: The Angul ADJM Special Court has sentenced two persons to 20-years of rigorous imprisonment after they were found guilty of raping a minor girl.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each failing which the convicts will have to undergo an additional jail term of six months.
The convicts were Turam Prusty (23) of Narsinghpur near Champua in Keonjhar district and Chandra Tiria (22) of Solada near Pallahada in Angul district.
The victim had gone to collect Mahua flowers from the roadside when the youths spotted the minor girl and asked her the way to the river. Later, the youths forcibly took the girl to an isolated place and raped her.
