Berhampur: Three persons were critically injured after two passenger buses collided at Surla Road junction on Berhampur-Palasa National Highway-16 near here in the wee hours of Thursday.
Two of the injured were identified as Alok Pradhan and Ganesh Pradhan of Sapang village under Jarada police limits, while the identity of third injured was yet to be ascertained. The trio was rescued from the spot and admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital. The mishap took place reportedly due to dense fog prevailing in the area.
The mishap occurred when a bus ‘Khambeshwari’ on its way from Malkangiri to Bhubaneswar collided head-on with another bus ‘Litu & Litu’. As a result, the Khambeswari bus skidded off the road and entered into a farmland while the other bus jumped over the road divider. Golanthara police registered a case and started an investigation, IIC Alok Jena said.
