Ghatagaon: Police swung into action and arrested four youths from Poijamula village under this police limits in Keonjhar district on charges of harassing a young couple, filming the video on their mobile phones and making it viral on social media platforms.
The accused have been identified as Mansingh Chaki, Sakaram Chaki, Dadu Munda and Sunia Munda. All are residents of Poijamula village.
In a video that has gone viral, the four youths can be seen harassing a young couple after they were spotted spending some private moments at the Atei Reserve Forest.
While the incident occurred a couple of days back, the matter came to the fore after a video of the harassment went viral.
The miscreants are seen threatening the couple using filthy language. Even as the girl can be heard urging the desperadoes to spare them, the miscreants pounced on them and tied the young man to a tree and assaulted him.
Sources said, the incident happened when a college girl from Sainpura under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district went to Maa Tarini shrine at Ghatagaon with her male friend.
On their way back, the couple parked their vehicle alongside the road and were spending some private moments in the jungle when the miscreants intercepted them.
The miscreants posed uncomfortable questions to the youth about their intentions and purpose of coming to the jungle. Taking advantage of the situation, the culprits can be seen touching the girl inappropriately.
Police registered a case based on a complaint by the victim’s father and made the arrest. The mobile phone has been seized and steps are on to block the viral video from all sites, police said.
