Bhubaneswar: Odisha 5T Secretary VK Pandian Sunday visited Taladanda Canal and Netaji Bus Terminal project sites in Cuttack and reviewed the progress made so far.
According to an official source, the first phase work of Taladanda canal renovation project (about 1.55 kilometre long) is nearing completion. It has been decided to extend the canal work up to the national highway side. The total length of the renovation with roads on both sides up to the national highway will be about 3.55 kilometre.
Pandian directed the officials concerned to expedite the project work, a senior official said.

The Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal (CNBT) is being built over an area of 17.91 acre in Khan Nagar locality. The bus terminal will help in easing the traffic flow of buses in Cuttack city and provide several amenities for the passengers at the terminal, the official added.
Pandian reviewed in detail the progress of the bus terminal project. He directed the officials concerned to discuss with local people regarding the shifting of an existing library from the project site and move it to a suitable new site within next 10 days. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 2022.
Along with the ambitious transformation project of the SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH), both these projects were taken up under 5T initiatives of Chief Minister Patnaik for decongestion of Cuttack.
State Works department secretary Krishan Kumar, special secretary to Chief Minister R Vineel Krishna, revenue divisional commissioner AK Samal, Cuttack Collector BS Chayani, Municipal Commissioner Ananya Das and senior project officials were present during the visit.
