Kandhamal: In a tragic road mishap in the wee hours of Monday, a 6-year-old boy died on the spot after being run over by an SUV in front og his house in Kandhamal.
The victim was identified as Sushil Pradhan.

Local villagers blocked the G Udayagiri-Berhampur road in Kandhamal district following the incident, affecting vehicular movement.
The irate Gunjibadi villagers under K Nuagaon block and Sarang police limits in the district staged a protest by keeping the body of the deceased minor as well as wood logs on the road.
On being informed, Sarang police reached the spot. The police recovered the mortal remains and sent it to nearby hospital for post-mortem. Police have also registered a case and launched a probe into the matter.
The bereaved family members including hundreds of local villagers have demanded the immediate arrest of the SUV driver and compensation for the kin of the deceased minor.
