Nabarangpur: At least nine persons including seven children took ill after consuming stale food in Dangarituda village under Papadahandi block in Nabarangpur district Saturday.
The victims were identified as Prasant Bhatra (6), Bhujibals Bhatra (12), Paresh Soura (14), Sanjeev Soura (4), Baleswara Soura (8), Bhaidi Soura (10), Bali Gauda (10), Gobinda Gauda (60), and Kamalu Gouda (55).
As per sources, the nine persons consumed three-day-old food. A few hours later, they complained of uneasiness and nausea and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The doctors have stated that the persons fell ill due to food poisoning. If the health condition of the patients deteriorates further, they will be shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH), informed the doctors.
