Puri: Using mobile phones inside the Jagannath temple here is banned. In fact, none of the devotees are allowed to carry their cell phones inside. Yet a selfie showing an Odia actress and her kin at Ananda Bazaar segment of the temple was clicked and it is now going viral.
In the selfie, actress Divya Disha Mohanty and her kin are seen having prasad. The picture has now gone viral on various social media platforms. However, the date on which the selfie was taken is not visible.
It is worth mentioning that similar incidents have occurred in the past also. Pictures and videos of tourists as well as servitors have gone viral. One of the most notable videos which had gone viral had actress Raveena Tandon featuring in it.
It should be stated here that mobile phones are banned within the temple premises to prevent terror attacks.
Notably, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration had banned mobile phones, cameras and other electronic gadgets in the temple premises. To enforce this rule, there has been 24×7 presence of security personnel at the Lions’ Gate through which devotees enter the shrine. CCTV cameras are also installed there.
There is also a metal detector at the entrance through which devotees pass to enter into the shrine. And there are signboards as well telling people about the banned gadgets and articles in the temple premises. Hence the picture of Divya Disha Mohanty and her relative going viral has stumped all.
