However, he has gone unsold in the first round of the auction today and will be back in the accelerated round tomorrow. Ahead of the auction, Steve Smith had set a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself. He was part of Delhi Capitals in the previous season.
Steve Smith has been part of IPL since the 2014 season. However, he has missed some seasons in between. In 103 IPL games so far, the right-handed batsman has scored 2485 runs at an average of 34.51. He has also slammed 1 century and 11 fifties in the tournament.
In his first season IPL 2014, Smith played for Rajasthan Royals. Playing 10 games, he scored 147 runs in the tournament. In the next season, he scored 293 runs in 14 matches. When Rajasthan Royals was banned from IPL 2016 and 2017, Steve Smith became part of Rising Pune Supergiants.
