SEC, Nagpur emerge champion

Rourkela, Jan 18:   SEC, Nagpur emerged champions in the Biju Patnaik football tournament, beating AK Club, Angul 2-0 in the final at the Ispat Stadium here Sunday.

SEC dominated the match completely scoring a goal in each half. Akif Faraz drew first blood after 24 minutes with a lovely goal from the right side of the box.

In the second half, Angul showed some resistance and didn’t give their opposition easy opportunities to score goals. But Owis Khan ensured victory for the visitors when he doubled the tally in the 78^th minute.

The champion team bagged a cash award of Rs 50,000, while the runners-up took home Rs 30,000.
