Malkangiri: A 10-yearold girl of Gobindpalli under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district allegedly ended her life after her father refused to buy her a mobile phone, Tuesday.
The deceased, daughter of Arjun Kirsani, was studying in Class V.
According to reports, the girl was frustrated over her father not bringing her a cellphone. Later, while Kirsani was asleep outside, the girl reportedly hanged herself from the door frame of their home using a towel.
Kirsani rushed his daughter to Mathili sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police have registered an UD case and are investigating the incident.
SDPO and local officers visited the site and seized the body. Probe is on.
