Chhatrapur: Aska additional block development officer (ABDO) and Sheragada senior revenue assistant (SRA) faced government action for dereliction of duty at control rooms during cyclone ‘Montha’.
Although Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan had directed all the government employees to remain present in their headquarters until normalcy is restored after the cyclone passes, Aska ABDO Sushant Kumar Behera and Sheragada SRA Sadananda Behera were found absent and neglecting their assigned duties.
While the ABDO faced a show-cause notice from the Collector, the SRA has been placed under suspension till further notice by the Collector.
As per the orders, both of them failed to execute their duties assigned during this high emergency period.
Ganjam Collector, along with ADM and other officials, were inspecting the cyclone shelters, control rooms and other facilities, when they found these two employees responsible for round-the-clock control rooms absent and neglecting their duties.
