Bhubaneswar: Odisha health department Wednesday said that 1,255 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and are being discharged.
Out of the 1,255 persons, 485 are from Ganjam, 125 from Khurdha, 122 from Sundargarh, 107 from Sambalpur, 75 from Puri, 43 from Mayurbhanj, 40 from Cuttack, 29 from Jagatsinghpur, 28 from Kandhamal, 27 from Balasore.
With this, total recoveries in the state now stands at 25,737.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s COVID-19 caseload touched 39,018 with the detection of 1,337 fresh infections, while nine more fatalities pushed its coronavirus death toll to 225 Wednesday. As many as 815 new cases were reported from quarantine centres, while 522 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing.
The fresh infections were reported in 28 districts. Odisha has so far tested 5,85,505 samples for COVID-19, including 14,915 Tuesday.
