Bhubaneswar: In pursuit of the 5T initiatives propounded by the state government, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday launched five online services of the Women and Child Development (W&CD) department through videoconferencing.
The Chief Minister launched three mobile applications and two web portals of the department. The three mobile applications are– Mamata App & MIS, Mo-Chhatua and e-Kalika. The web portals are: e-manadeya and Mo Sishu.
Naveen said his government is working for the development of children and empowerment of women for past 20 years. The government has taken initiatives starting from reservation of seats for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) to empowerment of 80 lakh women through self-help groups (SHGs), he said.
Odisha is the only state in India to have nutrition budget, he added.
Mo-Chhatua App was launched for streamlining supply chain management of Take Home Ration (Chhatua) while e-Kalika is an application for monitoring crèches for children under three years.
Mamata App will help making the flagship conditional cash transfer benefit for pregnant women hassle free, paperless and citizen centric, sources said.
Similarly, Mo Sishu portal is a comprehensive web-based information management and monitoring system exclusively for child protection services; The e-manadeya’ portal will help the department for seamless, paperless transfer of honorarium to 1, 34,758 anganwadi workers, mini anganwadi workers and helpers.
On the occasion, the department entered into technical collaboration with Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) and United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) for improving the quality of take home ration.
Another MoU was signed with ICMR- RMRC (Indian Council of Medical Research – Regional Medical Research Centre) to conduct annual nutrition survey.
The department has also entered into a technical collaboration with UNICEF for capacity building of the Odisha State Child Protection Society (OSCPS).
