Baghiapada: A bee attack left as many as 15 India Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawans injured, three of them critically, when they were participating in a firing drill at Brahmanipali forest under Baghiapada police limits in Boudh district Sunday.
According to sources, the jawans of Rourkela and Deogarh IRB were taking their firing lessons at a training centre inside the forest.
The bees attacked the jawans after bullets hit a bee hive. The jawans ran helter-skelter to save their lives even as 15 of them sustained injuries.
The injured jawans were admitted at Boudh district headquarters hospital. The critically injured were identified as Debasish Das, Ashok Behera and Susant Jagdala.
