Bhadrak: A man with four wives allegedly committed suicide Saturday by hanging himself from the ceiling following a family dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Das. He was working as an electrician in Bantala panchayat under Bhadrak block in Bhadrak district. The victim was apparently tired of meeting the demands of his four wives and after getting fed up with the disputes among them, he decided to end his own life.
According to police officials, he was married to three women and tied the knot for a fourth time only 11 months ago without informing his first three wives. In the wee hour of Saturday morning, an altercation took place among the wives and Ajay following which he was forced to commit suicide by hanging himself with a rope from the ceiling fan.
After finding their husband in this situation the wives informed the police. On being informed, the authorities reached the spot and seized the body.
The officials also sent the body for a post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter by lodging a case of unnatural death.
