Sambalpur: A 14-year-old boy, hailing from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh who had come to his aunt’s house on a visit, was stabbed to death by a 12-year-old boy in the locality in a scuffle over a bicycle accident, Friday night.
The incident occurred at Budharaja area under Ainthapali police station limits in this district. The 14-year-old victim had been to his aunt’s house near Budharaja Boy’s High School to spend his summer vacation. The two boys were riding bicycles near the school. “The 14-year-old accidentally hit the accused’s cycle as he lost control, and this led to a heated exchange of words between the two,” locals told the police.
They said the local boy rushed to his house and came out with a knife. Before anyone could intervene, he stabbed the victim on his chest. The victim was rushed to the Sadar district hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors.
Police detained the minor and seized the blood-stained knife from his possession.
