Nabarangpur: A Class VIII student was allegedly abducted and raped by two youths when she was on her way to answer the nature’s call at the Sanmari village Wednesday. As per the complaint by the girl with the Nabarangpur police, the two youths intercepted her and forcefully took her to an isolated place.
As per the case, the two youths repeatedly raped her and dropped her at her village Thursday morning. The youths warned her against revealing the matter to anyone. One of the youths promised to marry her if she kept the incident a secret. Thursday, the girl lodged the police complaint with the help of Maa Ghara, a local NGO. “The accused will be arrested soon,” informed IIC, Nabarangpur, Tarak Mohammed.
“Our government and the administration have failed to protect minor girls, said Maa Ghara chief Kadambini Tripathy.
