Bhubaneswar: The 10th Cottonfab-2018 expo at Exhibition Ground, Unit- III, Kharvela Nagar here which was inaugurated August 31 entered its 18th day Monday.
With around 150 stalls from 21 states, the expo has catered to budget of every category. One can find ritzy items as well as s/he can buy traditional, gorgeous and fabulous items without burning a hole in his/her pocket.
However, the main attraction of this year edition is a lucky draw which is held on every Sunday at 6pm with a scooter as the bumper prize. However, to qualify for the draw one has to purchase goods of worth Rs10,000 or above. This special contest has been declared to celebrate Cottonfab’s ten glorious years in the Temple City Bhubaneswar.
Ganesh Puja, which was celebrated with gaiety and religious fervour across the state September 13, marked the beginning of festive season in the state and there is no better way to surprise your relatives with handloom materials. The expo has been witnessing serpentine queues since its inauguration.
Orissa POST interacted with some of the buyers as well as sellers regarding the products and how the expo has been faring.
Usha Padihari, a resident of Unit-IX here, found her children beaming with joy as they shopped to their hearts’ content buying “latest designer pants as well as Chic tops”. “I’m a big fan of Cottonfab and this year the product range is bigger and better and guess what? I received huge discounts on many products too!” Padihari exclaimed.
Neha Narol, a visitor from Gujarat, found the embroidery suits being sold here at very competitive prices. “Yes, they are affordable and most importantly, the quality too is uncompromising,” she pointed out.
Jaswant Ahuja, a salesman in a Gujarati Kurti stall, said, “We have discovered that Odisha has a greater demand for our products and we are happy being the purveyor.”
From handcrafted Gujarati bags to Kashmiri shawls, ethnic Kurtis, bangles, home decors, jewellery as well as cutleries, the expo has them all.
The exhibition will conclude October 2.
