Jajpur: In a daylight robbery, a couple was looted of Rs 25lakh by two masked, bike-borne miscreants while they were returning home from the Sukinda SBI branchThursdaymorning. The victims were Bichitra Mallick and his wife Uma of Ambasar village.
Police said the couple went in a motorbike to the SBI branch and withdrew money. The woman held the cash in a bag on her lap and sat pillion while Mallick rode the bike.
Two masked men appeared from nowhere and snatched the bag from Uma and fled. The couple filed a case with the Sukinda police and lodged a written complaint. Police registered a case and launched a manhunt.
