Cyclone ‘Fani’: Special treatment of pregnant mothers

Chhatrapur: Keeping the magnitude of possible damages that may be caused by cyclone ‘Fani’ in mind, 180 expectant mothers from various parts in Ganjam district have shifted to different hospitals here Thursday, for the safety of their and the yet-to-be-born.

The district administrations across the state have been taking various measures to ensure minimal loss of life and property. As pregnant woman face the risk of health hazards, it has been decided to shift them.

ASHA and Anganwadi workers have brought them in special vehicles and got them admitted at local hospitals. They underwent medical checkups there.

Notably, ‘Fani’ fear has prompted the district administration to identify 541 expectant mothers in different parts of the district for their shifting to hospitals.
