Nabrangpur: Manash Ranjan Bisoi, a differently-abled boy from Baghseuni panchayat of Nabarangpur block, has proved that one can achieve his dream with grit and determination.
Manash was born with a deformed right hand, but that did not stop him from taking terracotta work lessons when he was just five.
Manash is getting all help and support from the government as well as his parents, teachers and neighbours. He is studying in Class IX at the Odisha Adarsh School.
Manash is the eldest son of Shyamghan Bisoi and Dulalai Bisoi. His father is a marginal farmer who has a small shop where he sells earthen accessories.
Manash’s parents said their son uses his spare time to make clay models and art works.
Villagers said the clay models and art works made by Manash look lively. They said he is displaying his creativity through his work.
The handmade clay models of Manash have increased the beauty of his school. His creations have drawn praise at the block and district levels.
Manash is getting the Banishri Scholarship from the government every year. Antarnibishi Shikhshaya Community’s head Lalit Kumar Dash is helping Manash to improve his skills. Manash has also won the ‘Samarthy Award’ from the community this year.
Manash said the right kind of support and positive attitude can help anyone achieve his potential. He said that he wanted to meet world famous sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik and to learn the art from him. “My creations will make Nabarangpur district world famous in future,” Manash said.
The people of Manash’s village, his friends and teachers said that he is indeed a role model.
