Balipatna: Robbers went on a looting spree and robbed cash and valuables from eight houses in different villages in the past three days. Police appear to be clueless, as no arrest has been made till date.
According to sources, miscreants entered the house of Artatran Das of Chanahat village recently and made away with Rs 10,000, a TV set and household articles he had stored for his daughter’s marriage.
In another incident, thieves stole a water pump from the house of Prasant Kumar Mohanty and household articles from the houses of Sashank Sekhar Das, Khirod Das, Lalit Ranjan Mohanty and Pramod Panda, all from Kulantira Sasan.
Earlier, several incidences of loot were reported from Banamalipur, Biswanathpur, Balipatna, Taradapada and Mamadata villages under Balipatna block. However, the police are yet to make any arrest.
