Jagatsinghpur: An elderly man was allegedly beaten to death over a property dispute at Jokipatna village under Sadar police limits in this district.
The deceased hails from Jokipatna village.
According to sources, a rift prevailed between the man and his neighbour over property. Things took an ugly turn after they broke out in a fight Tuesday.
In a fit of rage, the accused attacked the elderly man with a sharp-edged weapon, critically injuring him. Family members rescued and rushed him to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Jagatsinghpur.
However, he succumbed to his injuries Wednesday morning. Police reached the spot and registered a case in this connection.
