Sundargarh: Officials of the Vigilance department unearthed Tuesday properties worth crores of rupees from the possession of an assistant engineer of the Rural Works Division in this district. Sources here said simultaneous searches are being conducted at seven places in Sundargarh and Bhadrak districts following allegations of acquisition of disproportionate assets by the accused Sanjay Kumar Behera.
During searches multi-storied buildings, two plots of land, bank, postal and insurance deposits over Rs 1.61 crore, and other assets including 200 grams of gold, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers were unearthed.
