Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: The state government Monday accorded tourist destination status to three more sites in the state including Eram in Bhadrak district.

s which got tourist destination status comprised Eram in Bhadrak district, Tugugudia in Balasore district and Mangala Peeth at Kanas in Puri district, said Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda.
The number of tourist destinations in the state has now gone up to 344, officials said.
Eram also known as the place of sacrifice in Orissa, is about 16 km away from Basudebpur in Bhadrak district. British police had opened fire on a large gathering there, killing 30 people, September 28, 1942.
Tugugudia in Balsore and Mangala Peeth in Puri district are places of religious interest.
Of the 344 tourists destinations in the state, 13 are in Angul, eight in Bolangir, 22 in Balasore, 10 in Bargarh, nine in Bhadrak, three in Boudh, 25 in Cuttack, two in Deogarh, 10 in Dhenkanal, five in Gajapati, 22 in Ganjam, six in Jagatsinghpur, 19 in Jajpur and five in Jharsuguda.
