Bhubaneswar, April 24: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed officials to ensure ongoing Nabakalebara projects are pursued on a war footing and completed before deadline.
Holding a review meeting with top officials including Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister asked bureaucrats to ensure completion of work within deadline for smooth conduct of the mega festival.
During the meeting it was revealed that for development, renovation and expansion of roads in Puri, 20 various projects have been taken up by the state government of which 14 are already complete. The CM directed to complete the six remaining projects by deadline.
Likewise, considering the huge turnout of pilgrims during the festival, 21 major parking lots are being developed in Puri and its outskirts. The CM has asked officials to complete the projects by June 15.
Meanwhile, informing the CM about the progress status of several other projects undertaken in the pilgrim city ahead of Nabakalebara, officials assured that the Malatipatpur ROB will be completed by the first week of May, while the Pipli-Nimapara floyover and Gop-Balighai road will be completed by May 30 and first week of June respectively. Besides, the deadline for completion of Sakhigopal overbridge and Samjajpur road has been set for May 30.
The CM also reviewed the progress of railway projects for Nabakalebara in Puri and Bhubaneswar.
It was revealed in the meeting that the doubling of the 17-km long Puri-Sakhigopal railway line will be completed by May 15. Likewise, the construction of two additional platforms at Puri railway station will also be completed by May 31.
Besides construction of platform no. 5 and 6 at Bhubaneswar railway station would be completed by June end whereas construction of Malatipatpur bus terminal would be completed by June 15.
The CM also took stock of the preparation of the administration on uninterrupted power supply to Puri during the festival. Moreover, he asked officials to ensure the completion ongoing Nabakalebera projects before arrival of monsoon.
