Fishermen asked to exercise caution

Bhubaneswar, May 2: The Met department here Saturday issued a thunder squall warning, saying hail and gusty surface wind might be witnessed at one or two places along coastal areas while interior districts may witness dry weather in the next 24 hours.
The Met has also issued a warning for fishermen asking them to stay on guard against strong and gusty surface winds reaching speeds up to 55kmph from southwesterly direction along and off the Orissa coast. The sea would remain rough to very rough, the Met said, advising fishermen not to venture into the sea.
Officials said such weather conditions will persist till the next 24 hours after which there will be a gradual rise in temperature across the state.
Jharsuguda remained hottest and also received heavy rainfall, with the Met centre registering maximum temperature of of 41.5°C and rainfall of 10.8mm in the district Saturday.
Weather over the capital and nearby areas will remain partly cloudy with chances of rain to occur towards Sunday evening. The maximum and minimum temperature may remain around 39° 26°C respectively Sunday.
