Mumbai: ‘Julie’ fame actress Neha Dhupia, who was born 27 August 1980 in Kochi, has an exciting journey from being 2002 Femina Miss India to marrying actor Angad Bedi. On the beauty pageant winner’s birthday, let’s take a look into her filmy love story.
Neha secretly got married to ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actor Angad Bedi in a private ceremony at a Gurudwara May 10, 2018.
Going back to their love story, Angad first saw Neha in a gym and it was love at first sight. At that time Angad was playing Under-19 cricket in Delhi and Neha was preparing for Miss India pageant. In the beginning, it was completely one side love story. In an interview Angad mentioned about his love at first sight.
Angad said, ‘When I used to play under-19 cricket in Delhi, I saw Neha for the first time in the gym and she was wearing a short skirt. I was very impressed to see her running technique. At that time, I did not know Neha’s name.
He further added, “After years we both met in Mumbai and became friends. I was ready to carry the relationship with her at that time, but Neha preferred to continue with friendship. Later, friendship turned into love.”
However, Neha became pregnant before marriage. Initially both refuted the news of pregnancy, but later Angad confessed this in Neha Dhupia’s famous show ‘No Filter Neha’.
Angad had said, ‘Neha was pregnant before marriage and we informed this to our parents, they scolded us. The actress gave birth to a daughter and named her Mehr Dhupia Bedi.
Worth mentioning, Dhupia made her acting debut in a play in New Delhi called ‘Graffiti’. Thereafter she appeared in a music video for Indipop band Euphoria and did modelling for advertisement campaigns. She then appeared in the TV serial Rajdhani. In 2002, she participated in the Femina Miss India pageant, where she was crowned Miss India 2002. She was subsequently sent to the Miss Universe 2002 pageant in Puerto Rico where she was placed in the top 10.
