In this UK firm, employees work only 4-day a week, get salary hike

London: Portcullis Legals, a Britain-based law firm, has announced a new system according to which its employees will be working just four days a week. Not just that, those working for Portcullis Legals have also been given a pay rise. Yes, read that again.

The new working week is not a cost-cutting exercise and the raise has been provided to establish the fact. Reporting managers in the firm also said that employees are delighted with the system resulting in three off days in a week.

Staff is performing well while customers are also happy with the response.

While speaking to an international website, managing director Trevor Worth said, “The initial results have been heartening – our team is happier and our customers are receiving a better service.”

Before implementing the rule, Portcullis Legals did a trial for five months and following its success, introduced it as a permanent working system. The firm, though, operates in the evening for the benefit of their clients. “This means our valued clients can contact us later in the evening. Which is often more convenient,” Trevor added.

Employees are more than happy as Trevor said, “The response has been extraordinary and there’s a real passion to help other firms achieve a happier working week for their staff.”
