Khurda: Two persons died while lightning struck them in two separate incidents in the district here, Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Prahalad Behera, 35, of Chandapur under Khurda Model police station and Uttam Jena, 60, of Lekhanpur under Jankia police limits.
According to villagers, lightning struck Behera while he was returning home from a paddy field in the afternoon. Behera died on the spot.
On the other hand, lightning struck Jena while she was on her way to their cowshed in the evening. She also died on the spot, villagers said.
