Malkangiri: At least one person was killed and more than 10 others were injured after a DJ vehicle overturned near Mathili in Odisha’s Malkangiri district Friday morning.
According to source, the accident took place around 7 am near Anlajodi when a front tyre of the heavily loaded vehicle reportedly burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned.
The vehicle was travelling from Dharmagarh toward Malkangiri when the accident occurred, according to local reports.
Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the crash and helped rescue the injureds. Police later reached the site and shifted the injured to Mathili Hospital for treatment.
The authorities have begun an investigation to determine whether the vehicle complied with safety requirements. The condition of the injured was not immediately known.
