Nuapada: A horrific murder took place Sunday afternoon in Kenalpada Khutman Bhera village under the Dharmabandha police station in Nuapada Sadar block.
A man brutally hacked his wife to death with an axe. The deceased has been identified as Tirita Kamar, 40.
The police have arrested the accused husband, Santosh Kamar, 44.
According to reports, Santosh had gone out for some work and returned home around 5pm.

An argument broke out between him and his wife, during which Santosh, in a fit of rage, struck Tirita with an axe.
The blow to her neck proved fatal as she died on the spot. After the incident, Santosh attempted to flee, but the villagers apprehended him and tied him up with ropes.
Upon receiving information, the Dharmabandha police arrived at the scene, seized the body and the axe and arrested Santosh. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The body will be handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the Nuapada district headquarters hospital Monday, according to the station officer, Tankagiri Bhoi.
